Abiodun Olawale Olaku was born on December 29th 1958 in Lagos. He started his schooling in Ibadan at the Alafia Institute and was there till 1968 before he now proceeded to Sunny Fields Nursery and Primary to finish his primary education in 1969.
Abiodun Olaku proceeded to Baptist Academy, Lagos where he discovered his love for fine arts especially paintings and came out the top of his class in fine arts at the final exams (WASC). He later gained admission into the prestigious Yaba College of Technology for his prelim course and thereafter proceeded to obtain his Ordinary National Diploma (O.N.D) in 1977 and Higher National Diploma (H.N.D) Painting in 1979 coming out with a distinction grade as well as top of his class.
His work experience started when he was employed as a junior officer at the Federal Ministry of Works Head Quarters in Lagos from 1975 – 1977. He was also temporarily at the National Sports Commission in 1980 and then proceeded Edo State for his N.Y.S.C year at Ebologu Grammer School in Utagba – Uno. He settled down to a full time job in the Federal Department of Culture, National Arts Theater, Iganmu Lagos from 1982 to 1989.
Throughout his employment years, Abiodun Olaku never forsook his first love an continually painted and participated in Exhibitions. He has undertaken commissions for client in diversified regions of the world both private and public and he is also a member of many relevant professional bodies relating to fine arts
Abiodun Olaku is a devout Christian and he is happily married with kids
